Paragraph 1 

When a previous guest at the Burnell’s house sent the daughters a small dolls house they had a look at the dolls house and they see that it has been decorated well and they see that the dolls do not fit in the doll’s house as they are too big for the house. So the Burnell’s show everyone at school the doll house except the Kelvey’s and when the Kelvey’s felt left out they invited the Kelvey’s to show them the doll house. But when the Burnell’s were trying to show the Kelvey’s the doll house the Burnell daughters were seen by their aunt and the Kelvey’s were forced to return home. As the Burnell’s and Kelvey’s families do not get along throughout the short story people think that the Kelvey’s dad got arrested as he is never seen around.

Paragraph 2 

The characters I found interesting were the Burnell’s and the Kelvey’s because their families hate each other as the Kelvey’s are poor and the Burnell’s are rich this is often seen when getting mocked at school. The school kids that bully the Kelvey’s always say how poor they are and they always say to the Kelvey’s did your dad get arrested because he is never seen. And the Burnell’s do not let the Kelvey’s in their house to show them the dolls house at first but when they go and see the dolls house the Burnell’s aunt catches the Kelvey’s in their house looking at the dolls house and she kicks the kelvey’s out of the house. Because their families hate each other for stuff that happened in the past with each other so all the kids at school bully the Kelvey’s because of their family. I just think that it is interesting that they were invited to see the doll house. Because the Burnell family hates the Kelvey family so i thought it was interesting when the Burnell’s invited the Kelvey’s over to their house, the kelvey’s always get bullied in and out of school and their dad is in prison

Paragraph 3 

The messages I took from the short story were that you do not always have to judge people. The Burnell sisters were seen judging the Kelvey’s as they were poor, their families also hate each other so they judge the Kelvey’s as they say how poor they are and they also ask the Kelvey’s if their dad was in prison because he is never seen or heard about throughout the short story. Another message I took from the short story was that you should not leave people out if they really want to be a part of something because when someone is left out of something it might make them miss out on something fun. And in the short story the Kelvey’s were left out until one of the Burnell sisters asked if the Kelvey’s wanted to come see the doll house so then the Kelvey’s would not be so sad being left out by not seeing it. Because the Burnell’s invited everyone at their school to their house. As they were the most popular people at the school and the girls wanted to show off something that a previous guest had given them. So they thought we should show everyone at school our doll house but 2 at a time. And they showed the Kelvey’s last so they did not feel left out and after they showed the Kelvey’s the doll house the Kelvey’s were forced to go back to their house. It is important to learn these messages as the kids who are getting bullied are having their feelings hurt which makes them feel bad about themselves and not accepted by other students.

Paragraph 4 

The challenges that the characters had to deal with was bullying, as the Kelvey’s were seen throughout the short story getting bullied by all the other kids as they were called poor and horrible names because everyone hated the Kelvey’s. The students that were bullying the others had  also said that their dad was in prison because he was never seen around so everyone assumed that he had been arrested. I think it’s mean for them to say things like that because it’s unfair and hurts their feelings because the other students don’t get treated the same way. They feel like they’re being picked on and it’s not nice to be bullied at school/workplace. Because it can hurt people this can sometimes lead to suicide or drug overdoses because people are depressed and they feel like they dont belong on the planet and people need to learn to respect each other, there are quite a few countries that have a high number of teen suicide rates such as New Zealand, New Zealand has a high number of teen suicide rates because of bullying and cyberbullying. 

Paragraph 5

The title was appropriate as it was about when a guest that stayed at the Burnell’s house and they gave the Burnell’s a doll house and this was when the girls invited everyone at the school their doll’s house but they did not want to invite the Kelvey’s as their families hated each other so they did not like each other throughout the story the Kelvey’s are getting bullied by everyone at the school in the end of the film the Burnell’s decide to invite them over to see the doll’s house but the Burnell’s aunt kicks the Kelvey’s out of the Burnell’s house because their families did not like each other as the Kelvey’s are poor and the Burnell’s are rich the Kelvey’s dad is never seen because everyone thinks that he got arrested and the Burnell’s their parents have good jobs this is why the Burnell’s have a lot of money because they have high paid jobs which is a source of their wealth.

Paragraph 6

I would recommend this story to a younger audience such as kids as it is has a lot of bullying in the story and to tell kids that it is not nice to bully people and it shows kids that you do not always have to bully people because you think that they are not better than you. In the end of the story the Burnell’s invited the Kelvey’s over because they wanted to see the doll house as all the students had seen the doll house but the Kelvey’s hadn’t seen it so they  invited them over after the Kelvey’s saw the doll house the Burnell’s aunt kicked the Kelvey’s out of their house as their families despised each other because their parents hated each other. Because of something that happened in the past which is why their parents hate each other. Throughout the story the Kelvey’s were called horrible names because they were poor and they did not have a dad growing up. But in the end the Burnell’s were being nice and inviting them over to see the doll house as the Kelvey’s had not seen it and really wanted to see it. They wanted to see it because every other kid at their school came and saw the doll house and the Kelvey’s were getting jealous because they probably did not have a doll house growing up as the Kelvey’s mum might not be able to afford it as she has a low paid job.
