PUNS – one of the puns in the Forrest Gump movie is the line “life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get” this line is said 2 times in the film the first time this is seen is when forrest said it when he was telling his story and the second time it is seen is when his mother says it to him when she is dying. what they are trying to tell the audience is that you go through stages in your life that you do not know what is going to happen in your lifetime, Forrest Gump in the film went through stages in his life and he did not know what was going to happen as he got bullied but he turned into an American hero there was also some things he did not think were going to happen soon like when his mum and Jenny died. there were also puns throughout the film but forrest’s famous line is heard the most.

RHETORICAL QUESTION – the rhetorical questions in Forrest Gump was when forrest said “thought?” this was seen when an army officer asked Forrest Gump “have you given any thought about your future?” because Forrest Gump did not know what he wanted to do in the future so he applied to the army and that is where he met bubba when forrest and bubba went to Vietnam for war they met a lieutenant whose name was dan. When all of the soldiers were getting shot at forrest sprinted out of the forrest and he saw no one so he went back into the forrest and saved as many people as he could he saved bubba last as he could not find him and this is where his friend bubba dies in the film. They promised to start a shrimping company together so forrest started the company Bubba Gump near the end of the film which forrest’s friend lieutenant dan also helped forrest with his company as lieutenant dan promised forrest he would be his first mate on his ship if forrest started the shrimping company. After this Forrest Gump retires and he then marries Jenny and they have a kid together when Jenny passes away forrest gives Jenny a letter that their son wrote to her and then forrest gump’s son is seen getting on a bus at the end of the film. It is the same bus driver that introduced herself to forrest at the start of the film and then Forrest Gump and Forrest Gump Jr say “I love you” to each other then the feather in Forrest’s book that forrest picks up at the start of the film is then released to show that Jenny is free as she was seen as a bird throughout the film.

SOUNDTRACKS – the soundtracks in the film relate to what is happening throughout the film like when Jenny stood on the edge of a balcony the song “free bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd played and another example of this is when the song “go your own way” by Fleetwood Mac played this was seen when Forrest Gump ran for 2 years some more soundtracks include “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley this was seen after Elvis came to Forrest gump’s house Forrest showed Elvis Presley his moves and Elvis used them when he sang “Hound Dog”.

CHARACTER STORY – in forrest gump it started where he had to get some leg braces and all the kids bullied him and would not let him sit next to them but some girl let him sit next to her and they introduced themselves to each other and throughout the story forrest gump meets 3 presidents and he also met some musicians as well like John Lennon and Elvis Presley forrest gump also goes to university to play American Football and when he graduates from university he signs up for the army. And after he joins the army the same incident happens all the people in the army don’t let forrest sit next to them until a guy called bubba lets forrest sit next to him bubba then asked forrest if he wants to join him in his shrimping business and forrest agrees after bubba died in the film forrest got a medal of honour and he meets up with jenny in Washington D.C. forrest then goes into the national ping pong team. He also went onto some talk shows to share his story and he also met back up with his friend lieutenant dan who lost both his legs in the Vietnam war and saw he was in a wheelchair and when forrest told him he was starting a shrimp business lieutenant dan said if that ever happens he would be his first mate and forrest gump started the company called bubba gump. After this Forrest Gump later got married and then Jenny and forrest had a kid together called Forrest Gump Jr later Jenny passed away from Aids and she was buried where forrest and Jenny used to play when they were kids. Then there is a scene where forrest gump’s kid also introduces himself to the same bus driver Forrest Gump introduced himself to in the beginning of the film. Then forrest gump and his kid say I love you to each other and then Forrest Gump lets go of the feather in his book to let Jenny free as Jenny was seen as a bird throughout the film.
