Paragraph 1

The movie is based on the book that is written by Stephen King and it is about a guy named Andy who was arrested for killing his wife and her lover which he was framed for and while he was in prison he met an inmate named Red. Red made a bet with other inmates  saying Andy would be the first person to cry while he was in prison. Red lost the bet when he saw another inmate crying which the inmate later died from his injuries because Captain Hadley had beat him to death the prison did not know Andy was escaping each month Andy  kept digging through the wall which he dug behind his poster and Andy stayed in the prison for 19 years and once Andy escaped the prison he changed his name and showed the court evidence that will show his innocence and then after this Red was released from prison then Captain Hadley was arrested and the warden ended up committing suicide because he did not want to get caught for his crimes after this Red found a postcard that Andy had left for him telling him where to meet him as Andy had crossed the border into mexico where he had decided to meet Red on the beach sanding his boat they then met up and they were glad to see each other as they had not seen each other in a few months after Andy had escaped shawshank prison.

Paragraph 2 

The characters I found interesting are Andy, Red, Tommy, Captain Hadley and the Warden. As Andy was arrested for a double murder which he recieved a double life sentence in Shawshank Prison this is where he met a guy named Red and they made a bet with each other that Andy was going to be the first person to start crying since he arrived in the prison which Red lost that bet and after that they became really good friends with each other in 1962 when Tommy arrived he told Andy that a cellmate that he had in another prison told him that he killed Andy’s wife and her lover and after this they became really great friends when the Warden and Captain Hadley found out that Andy was innocent and that Tommy had information that could get Andy out of prison the Warden gave permission to shoot Tommy in the chest and this would be the second inmate that Officer would have killed since Andy had arrived in the prison as Captain Hadley had beat another inmate at the start of the movie because he would not stop crying which the inmate later died in the infirmary from his injuries there were other deaths in the film such as when brooks hanged himself after being released from prison because he was scared and then Andy’s wife and her lover who were killed by Elmo Blatch at the start of the film and Andy was framed and imprisoned in the Shawshank prison. 

Paragraph 3 

The messages i took from the film were you should not frame someone for a crime that they did not commit and Red said that he was the only man in Shawshank prison that was actually guilty everyone else was innocent which is not right and this is why Andy had started breaking his way out of the prison while Andy was in prison two inmates died, when Andy broke out of the prison he changed his name. When I bought my PS4 I had to work really hard to buy it just like Red and Andy worked really hard to get out of prison which in the end Andy escaped and Red got released from prison. Red then went to a tree and found a note from Andy and told Red to go to the wall near the tree where Red found the box that Andy had left there after he had escaped from prison and when Red was later released from prison he went to the spot and found a box with a note in it and it was written by Andy and it was telling him to meet him in Mexico where Andy was seen sandpapering his boat when Red walked up to him at the beach and they were glad they were out of prison and they were also glad to see each other again as they had not seen each other in months after Andy escaped Red was trying to get paroled out of prison as he had been in the prison for over 40 years Red was so relieved to be released out of prison as he could then see Andy again.

Paragraph 4 

The challenges that Andy had to deal with was when he arrived he was beaten up by some inmates and Andy fought back and broke one of their noses with a movie reel and when Captain Hadley found out about the inmates beating Andy up Captain Hadley beat the inmates up with his baton and one of the inmates had to get moved to a rest home where he was fed through a tube the other two did not get bullied by the inmates again and Andy had already started digging at this point as he started breaking out the first day he was put in the prison and the officers did not even know he was breaking out so when they have to come out of their cells for a role call he doesn’t and they did not know where he was so when the warden threw a rock at the poster it went through the poster and they took the poster down and he was gone by then so they could not find him.

Paragraph 5

The title of the movie/ book fits well with the story as shawshank was the prison Andy was put in as well as the other characters and redemption means to regain possession of something and in this case Andy regained his innocence when he escaped prison and he told the court that he was innocent and he also told them the person who did the crime Andy was committed for and he also told them the bad things the warden and Captain Hadley had done and after this Andy changed his name and Captain Hadley was arrested and the warden was about to be arrested as well but killed himself as he did not want to go to prison. Throughout the movie the Warden and Captain Hadley were trying to keep Andy in prison and when Tommy came to the prison from another prison he told Andy that he was innocent and that Tommy’s old cellmate was the one that killed Andy’s wife and her lover and when the Warden and Captain Hadley found out who killed Andy’s wife and her lover they wanted him to stay in the prison as he did their taxes and invoices and they asked Tommy if that was true and when Tommy said that it is true Captain Hadley shot and killed Tommy as the Warden gave him permission to as they knew Andy was innocent and that Andy had enough evidence to show the court he was innocent after this Andy changed his name after this Andy decided to settle down in Mexico where he met up with Red on the beach while Andy was sanding his boat.

Paragraph 6 

I would recommend this to young adults and kids and adults as you can not always judge a person and send them to prison when they did not even commit the crime as Andy was put in a maximum security prison and give a double life sentence for a crime he had not committed so he decided to break out eventually he did and his life afterwards was so much better as he escaped the prison to prove his innocence then he was in the prison for 19 years people forgot who he was and what he had done and then he changed his name and then got Captain Hadley arrested and the warden killed himself afterwards when he saw one of his officer getting arrested which was Captain Hadley and then Andy went to Mexico where he met up with Red in the end this is when Red saw Andy sanding his boat on the beach Andy and Red were so happy to meet each other again as they had not seen each other in months, Andy was pleased to be free as he had spent 19 years of his life trying to break out of the prison and when he did he got what he wanted and he decided to have a better life in mexico where he settled down there.
